Nov 7, 2011 Hey Doug - We just wanted to give you a heads up on some 4 & 5 year old sprockets that you helped the Gray Ghost Project out with. After a 4 year effort to regain the AMA Land Speed Record for his class 1350 M/PP at the Bonneville salt flats, the work paid off with a second Land Speed record of 147.797. That's with a 1974 Ironhead Sportster with OEM carburetion. Many, many thanks for the quality sprockets you sent us. They have lasted 4 seasons of drag strip testing and 4 years/20 days of racing on the salt flats so far, and are still looking good enough to run another couple of years. Here is a short you-tube video of the record runs. Enjoy, and thanks again for the quality sprockets that have been now proven to have excellent longevity.

I received the ft & rear sprocket set for our CR85 motor & custom rear set up as well as the chain and just wanted to say I am happy to just place it on & adjust. Actually the 120 links was spot on. Quality is very nice & most of all, glad to see some quality stuff made here in the USA. I am sick of the foreign garbage infiltrating this country like sprockets & tools etc. We’ll be talking over the winter to get some more gear sets from you, once I can at least get this completed motor conversion project completed. Thank you so much for the sprocket that you made for my sons 2003 kfx 50. As you know this quad is a two stroke so it does not have the bottom end torque of a 4 stroke. With the gear selection that you helped me to determine,this little quad now has the bottom end torque that it needed. The overlay sprocket I received from you looks great. I Think it is going to increase the ratio to about what I wanted.
I did change the hardware that you sent me. I decided to use high strength 1/2 X 20 NF bolts with a solid shoulder that will rest against the inside diameter of the two sprockets. I believe this will give a good bearing surface where the stress is. Also, I ground down both the head of the bolt and the nut to allow more clearance. On final assemble, I will use Threadlock to insure the unit will not come apart. You can check out the photos attached.

Sandy, Well success creates more work. This past Sep and Oct I set and then bumped my record at the Maxton Mile for APS-F 250-4 (translates to roadracer using fuel and a 250cc 4 stroke engine). But now I need more sprocket choices as I refine things further. So can you make me a 29 and 31 tooth sprocket with the same pattern as below for the 520 chain as usual? Can I get them within 1 month? Thanks again for your custom help with this project bike.

I wanted to say thanks for working with us on the sprocket guard for the Cobra and getting the rest of our stuff to us. I have attached a few of pictures of it installed. I overlooked two items about the design of it which were an easy fix.One is the center hole needed to be beveled on the sprocket hub side,the ears are rounded on that side instead of being squared off like it is where the sprocket bolts to(I tried to show the shape of the hub in one picture). The other is with the Cobras you must insert a round punch or screw driver through the holes in the sprocket to access a hole in the side of the bearing carrier so the chain can be tightened. I was able to drill 4 holes to line that up. If you would like I can spread the word and let all the Cobra guys know that you can make these,let me know either way. If there is anything you need just let me know.If you have any 12" or 14" decals we would be glad to put a couple on our trailer,totally up to you.

Just wanted to say thanks for the great job on the sprockets you sent a few months back. We wound up using a 22 tooth on the trans and the 40 tooth you made for us on the rear wheel. That combination was good enough for us to turn a 121 & 125.589 mph to beat the record in our class - M/PP - 1350. We hope to experiment with a 21 on the trans and the 36 tooth you made on the tear wheel, shortly. Can you see your Rebel Gears decal to the right of the THYNK decal on rear of trailer ?
For now though, thanks for helping and being part of a new AMA Land Speed Record.

Well I was at a local shop in Cookeville today and the salesman said I just ordered some sprockets from Rebel Gears. I replied they are great guys up there. He said did you know you was on their home page, I replied no. He showed me the pic. I was so proud.
The sprocket you guys made me well I love it. I had a bit of caution about it being aluminum but have put a lot and I mean a lot of miles on the sprocket. I ride my bike like I stole it too. The sprocket has not even showed a bit of wear. I really appreciate the custom made sprocket you made me. The service I experienced with your company was great and as for the salesmanship (no pun intended for the lady of the business) you couldn't have ask for any better it was great. I have been using your gears for the past few years and love'em. I have been competing in the AHDRA drag series, and I am in need of a sprocket. I am looking for a 62 tooth, 530 chain for a buell tri-spoke. Doug has helped me in the past when I first converted my V-rod over to chain drive, and I appreciated all his help. I will be competeing at our season final in Las Vegas Nov 11 & 12. I am currently leading the points in S&S Cycle Super Sport Class, and need and extra 1/2 of tenth to run the 10.30 number.

Comments: The application was for a 1974 Honda XL350. The rear original rear sprocket was 45 tooth. I asked Sandy and crew to made a 42 tooth sprocket. 4 days later I received a piece of artwork - way to beautiful to wrap a motorcycle chain around - but I did. Talk about perfection in engineering, design and manufacturing. this is it, without question. The gearing range of the motorbike is just where I wanted. Sandy and family are the best, repeat, the best, at what they do (and at a real good price).

Thank you for taking such good care of us. we appreciate it alot.Your products hold up better than SS by 20 times or more. I ran a 45t 630 specialist sprocket and after 6 passes it was missing 7 teeth and rolled over like a chain 30,000 miles. Using the same 630 shb chain adding 2 links installed your 48t, 630 sprocket, bike made over 60 passes up hill, sprocket is only showing wear and could easily make another 10 passes.I had to change gearing for a new tire and tried another SS sprocket 3 passes later it had teeth missing. Changed tires again and installed a 44t rebel sprocket, 11 passes sprocket is going strong very little wear. All this was done with the same chain and counter sprocket so no one can blame the chain for eating the SS sprocket.

All these records are without nitrous, we have some faster runs on nitrous but these were backed up within 1% more than once.
